Karina Palmer started as a producer in cable television and later joined Nublu Records, where she produced music videos for artists signed to the label, as well as for performers she met while working as a VJ at the iconic Nublu venue in New York’s Lower East Side. Immersed in the music scene that included the likes of Moby, David Byrne, Seu Jorge, and others, she became a part of a vibrant cultural movement. Karina eventually began traveling with bands, documenting their behind-the-scenes lives through raw, on-the-road, music-driven micro-documentaries that blended sound, image, and cultural pulse.
She officially became a familiar on-camera presence as a television host at Current TV, the groundbreaking cable network co-founded by Al Gore. There, she produced and hosted music and events segments that spotlighted emerging artists, pop culture, and underground scenes. After a year traveling through Southeast Asia and Europe producing her web series Trippin for Food, Karina Palmer realized she had never truly experienced adult life in her native Colombia. She returned to accept a new challenge as the solo host of I ❤️ Sabor USA, a bilingual lifestyle and factual entertainment national television series for Canal Trece.. I Love Sabor USA, explored the cultural connections between the United States and Colombia through the lens of gastronomy. Blending her personal story with culinary discovery, Karina led audiences on a journey that celebrated identity, heritage, and cross-cultural flavor.
She also appeared as one of three main characters in Vive Digital (2015–2016), a nationally broadcast travel-themed television sitcom that introduced everyday citizens to emerging web technologies. Karina Palmer comes from an artistic family where theatre was an integral part of everyday life. She began acting in childhood, in national theater and her performances have continued to evolve — a passion that has remained a meaningful thread throughout her creative career. She has appeared in both television and film, including her role as Luisa, the head of the DEA, in the acclaimed Colombian crime drama Alias JJ: Surviving Escobar (2018). Most recently, she made a special appearance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film One Battle After Another (2025).
